In the process of working on this he discovered scraps of fleece remnants left over from cutting garment patterns. As the owner of an active puppy at home, he immediately had an idea: why not use that fleece to beef up Maggie’s puppy bed? You see, Maggie had been using her bed for just a few months but it was already showing wear and tear. Those who have raised active puppies will understand immediately. The result was dog beds made of recycled soft fleece, water-resistant ripstop nylon, and strong 420 denier packcloth. Mr. Kelling decided to test the market and the few samples he made were instantly sold! His love for his puppy and the use of recycled materials are the two major factors behind the success of Big Shrimpy. Today, Big Shrimpy is known as one of the leading manufacturers of dog beds made of recycled materials.

The Big Shrimpy product line includes all shapes and colors of dog beds, cat beds, cat whisker wide bowls and replacement components for the dog beds. Its dog and cat beds are made from the same materials that were used originally, plus its exclusive recycled filling called Smart Refill. The dog and cat beds are washable and dryable. Due to its recycled materials, manufacturing the dog and cat beds use less energy which means savings in cost of production. Since the company was established, it has used more than 328,000 pounds waste materials from clean polyester fiber.

Big Shrimpy advocates recycling and makes it easy for you. So if the time comes when you no longer need your Big Shrimpy dog or cat bed, you can send it back to the company and they will make sure that it will be recycled into “new” dog or cat beds. • Original and Nest beds and their component parts: 3 year warranty
• Basic Beds and Basic component parts: 2 year warranty
• Catalina beds: 3 year wawrranty
• Landing Pads: 2 year warranty

If one of the above products fails due to a manufacturing defect within its warranty period as defined above, we will repair or replace it at our discretion. Our warranty does not cover damage due to pet behavior. If an item is damaged by pet behavior after a manufacturing defect becomes evident, the warranty is void. Warranty orders must be accompanied by a copy of a dated receipt. Warranty does not cover normal wear on product fabrics (e.g. sleeping surface).
